Simon Khachadourian opened the first Pullman Gallery on London's St. James's next to Christies in 1998, with the intention of bringing together under one roof a broad selection of late 19th and early 20th Century collectables for discerning collectors to enjoy.
Pullman captured the attentions of the press and other media, and coupled with imaginative advertising, the gallery developed an enthusiastic and international clientele. In June 2000, Simon Khachadourian's book, 'The Cocktail Shaker', was published, selling out its initial print run of 10,000 copies in less than 6 months. It is now regarded as the definitive work on the subject of vintage cocktail shakers, and was followed in 2001 with the launch of PULLMAN magazine.
Now published quarterly, PULLMAN has expanded from a six page fold-out to a 36 page, high quality glossy magazine, distributed to around 2000 clients and friends of the gallery, world-wide. Also available in downloadable PDF format (please see our PUBLICATIONS section), PULLMAN magazine presents its readers with a review of the gallery's most recent acquisitions, and has evolved into an essential read for its subscribers.
PULLMAN's second gallery in Mount Street, Mayfair, opened in 2003, and it's larger more spacious facilities allow for larger pieces, framed posters, Art Deco furniture and so on, to be displayed. Now in its 10th year, Pullman occupies a unique position offering its clients a huge variety of unusual and rare pieces, across a broad range of categories - from vintage motor racing to polo, Art Deco cocktail shakers to antique Louis Vuitton trunks, the choice is almost infinite, and limited only (as they say) to your imagination!
