'Tea caddy' cigarette box by Asprey, 1929
A very rare Asprey Sterling silver cigarette box shaped as a tea caddy, the large finial turns to let the four right-angled compartments swivel open revealing cedar-lined compartments reserved for Russian, Egyptian, Turkish and Virginia cigarettes, the body and finial heavily engine-turned, mounted on a swept polished foot. Hallmarked ASPREY & CO. London, 1929.
