'Verdun' trench art clock, c. 1916
An unusual souvenir of World War I as a figural military tank clock made in France. It features two tanks on rough terrain-one has an open gap underneath it. There is a small plaque that says 'SOUVENIR DE VERDUN.' It is signed on the back 'E. RICHER-PARIS.'
Dimensions: Length 8 inches (20 cms) & height 4 inches (10 cms).
Additional notes: It is heavy-over three pounds and is probably made of 'pot metal.' Found in America, it probably was brought back by a United States soldier.
