‘Stirrup’ place card holders by Hermès, 1950
A set of twelve Sterling silver place-card or menu holders in the form of stirrups, in original fitted Hermès grosgrain presentation box. Circa 1950.
Dimensions: Length of each 1½ inches (4 cms).
Additional Details:
The equine influence owes its origins to the founding of the French company as a saddler in the 19th Century. The first Hermès bag, used to carry saddles and bridles, soon followed with conspicuous success.
