'Macassar Ebony Desk' by J. Leleu, c. 1930s
An impressive and unusual Art Deco ebene de macassar bureau, probably by Jules Leleu (1883-1961) of large asymmetric proportions, one end curved with inlaid ivory concentric banding, the front with deeply recessed bookshelves, with two banks of drawers with ivory inlaid handles, the drawers with locking mechanism all unlocking/locking with a single key, with blind tooled saddle leather top, French c 1930.
Dimensions: length 195 cm (77 inches), depth 90 cm (35 inches), height 76 cm (30 inches).
