Mother-of-pearl gaming chips, 1900
A superior turn of the last century set of engraved French mother-of-pearl gaming chips, circa 1900, in four denominations (5, 20, 50 and 250 francs), totalling some 500 in number; together with a set of early Bakelite poker dice and, remarkably fresh, two unopened 1920s De la Rue playing card decks. All enclosed in a stylish, suede-lined ebony and sycamore fitted box (modern), with plaques inset to the lid.
